Good timing as we are about to move
into gear.
As you will be aware, today 25 April we
recall the Carnation Revolution in Portugal which led to a more
democratic country and the release of colonies with still evolving self
confidence. And now we are ready to explore more of Portugal and the
Iberian peninsula over the next month of so. We leave next Saturday
for Lisbon aiming to learn as much as we can about Portugal and her
neighbours Spain and Morocco.
We will stay in Lisbon, Porto, Madrid,
Barcelona, Zaragoza, San Sebastian, Marrakech, Fes and Rabat. And
apart from the usual tourist activities which we will do together, we
will split up for a bit whilst Yvonne goes south into the Algave for some
painting therapy and Randall will join up with men friends to walk
from Porto to Santiago de Compostella.
We are happy to leave home for the
remainder of autumn and not enough of winter. And we are not
expecting to miss the dreary local politics of small minds grappling
for power. For sure we will miss families and friends, but time is
running out with so much yet to see and do.
Per ardua ad Asta and stay in touch.
