Winter is rapidly approaching. Some of our friends have already escaped our cool climate and by this time next week we will have escaped too. Our target this year, again, is Europe, this time Italy.
Maybe they will have a Government in place. Maybe not. But since dis-functional political classes are seemingly everywhere these days, we will do what other ordinary citizens do in such times which is to just get on with our lives.
So after a few days to adjust body clocks in Rome, Yvonne will head to Perugia/Umbria to enjoy some painting time whilst Randall heads to Liguria for a 'walkers walk' with friends.
Then reunited in Lucca we will head over to Sardinia for a week or so before heading further South to Sicily. Along the way we are trying for quick side trips touching Corsica, the Aeolian Islands and Malta.
We have some Italian language and we have done our homework . We hope that the weather does not get too hot but in any case, there is always the Mediterranean Sea close by to flop into as needed.
